Hot New Trends: Antique Assets!

Recently I have become fascinated by Kentshire Antique Galleries on Madison Ave New York. They have a superb collection of antique, period, and estate jewelry embracing distinctive jewelry from the Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, and Retro periods. If you are looking for a more retro look, they have a pair of door knocker earrings and a gold mesh bracelet that will complete your look. However, these assets don’t come cheap!

What’s more interesting about Kentishire Galleries is that they don’t exactly provide prices for their pieces. Instead you get a price range $5,000-$50,000 tag for an item so you better go with an open check book or you may be sadly disappointed.

1. A pair of turquoise blue enamel earrings inlaid with diamonds and platinum $10-20,000

A pair of gold and white enamel earrings of ribbed design, in 18k. David Webb $5-1000

Retro gold mesh bracelet of twisted design, in 18k $10-20,000

Pair of Diamond Encrusted Door knocker earrings $10-20,000

If you love these items as much as I do but want to get the look for less rather than taking on a serious investment at for now, you can find the look for less at fashionfeverjewelry.com

1. Blue turquoise enamel bracelet $159.00

2. Pair of door knocker earrings gold metal and white enamel antiques $79.00

3. Pair of Gold and white enamel earrings of ribbed design $79.00

4. Retro silver mesh necklace $129.00

Perfect Accent To A Cocktail Dress

This past weekend I had to attend an engagement party that I was very excited about because I found a lovely Nicole Miller black and white cockail dress for a steal at Loehmann's in Bethesda MD. All that was left was a matching necklace. After a tireless search online and on foot, I found this perfect Flower Pendant by Stephen Dweck at Bergdof Goodman online but I was feeling spoiled by the sweet deal I had just made at Loehmann's and was not willing to shell out $398.00 for just the pendant.

(Mother-of-pearl with granulated sterling silver center, bail, and back.• Flower, 1 1/4"L.• With bail, 1 7/8"L. )Stephen Dweck $398.00 at http://www.bergdofgoodman.com/

Instead, I purchased this beautiful freshwater pearl and onyx beaded necklace with a black flower pendant $149.00 at fashionfeverjewelry.com and got a lot of goshes! for it. I still love this Stephen Dweck piece and would probably add to to my collection and maybe wear it to the wedding:)

(Freshwater pearl and onyx beaded 16 inch necklace with elegant black rose pendant with Swarovski crystal )center accented with single jasper bead $149.00 at http://www.fashionfeverjewelry.com/

Welcome to Couture Fever!

Every woman has her vice, bags, shoes, clothes, facials relaxing massages etc etc. Mine is jewelry. I love jewelry because unlike designer bags and shoes, high end desinger jewelry are not so easily written off as “out of season” In fact they become more precious and enduring as time passes and you can UP your Haute status with that “dated” time piece at any soiree. You can shop antique stores if you have the time or cut to the case and head to the department store. Better yet, go to your trusted online source. This week on Haute features designers that really deserve to be celebrated-

1. Jose and Maria Barrera Turquoise Necklace 24-karat solid yellow gold-plated white metal. Gold-plated Austrian crystals. Turquoise stone and glass cabachon detail. 19"L. Hook-and-eye closure at Bergdoff Goodman.

Perfect for the summer for a whopping $665.00 but if you are on a budget or simply want something with a bit of a younger feel, check out this equally gorgeous white turquoise piece from fashion fever jewelry for $169.00
